Campus Shuttle Driver

UAA is seeking customer focused, friendly drivers to join our Seawolf Shuttle team! Our in-house transit program provides transportation on a specified route through campus to students, staff, and faculty. This is a 9-month position, offering summers off. Standard schedule will be Monday through Thursday, 10 hour shifts. Apply today to join our team!
Must have and maintain a valid Alaska driver’s license, clean driving record and meet/maintain UA Safe Driver criteria.
The successful candidate will have the ability to pass a Federal DOT pre-employment drug screen test, have sufficient vehicle knowledge for inspections and logs, and be able to operate a wheelchair lift. Strong customer service skills are essential, including effective communication with diverse customers and the ability to handle inquiries positively. Dependability, time management, initiative, decision-making, and teamwork are crucial, as is flexibility to work different shifts and in varying weather conditions. The UAA shuttle team works closely and cohesively, and team members must be willing to work alternate shifts, including early morning/evening hours, and work outside in inclement, unpredictable weather conditions. Preferred qualifications include experience with radios and in-house transit programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
A high School Diploma or GED is required. A minimum six months of prior shuttle/transit or commercial driving experience; or, an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

Applicants must also submit with their application packet a current (no older than 30 days) copy of their full DMV driving record report.

Position Details:
This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage. This is a full-time, term-funded non-exempt staff position. Salary Information: Maintenancce Service Worker III (MSW3)/Step 1 $19.71/hr. (See Article 9.2 in the L6070 Collective Bargaining Agreement, https://www.alaska.edu/hr/labor/labor-relations/local-6070.php#collapse3d13e356).

This position is a term-funded position and is reviewed annually for contract renewal at the University’s discretion.
